My Life Here at THD-From My E-mail Last Month-Tagalog in US


A study was conducted by WordFinder to determine which language, apart from English and Spanish, was most prevalent in every state and each major city in the United States.

The findings showed that:
  • Tagalog is the most spoken language after English and Spanish in the state of Nevada.
  • Tagalog is the most spoken language after English and Spanish in nine cities in the Western U.S.:
            California -- San Diego, Long Beach, Riverside, Stockton, Chula Vista
            Nevada -- Las Vegas, Reno, Henderson
            Alaska -- Anchorage.
  • Tagalog is the most spoken language after English and Spanish in two cities in the Southwest:
          Arizona -- Gilbert
            Texas -- Corpus Christi
  • Tagalog is the most spoken language after English and Spanish in four cities in the Southeastern U.S.:
         Virginia -- Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake
            Florida -- Jacksonville
  • Tagalog is the most spoken language after English and Spanish in one of New York City's 55 districts, which is in Brooklyn.

Harvard University said that Filipino is the fourth most spoken language in the US next to English, Spanish and Chinese. 

The Philippines has 8 major dialects. Bikol, Cebuano, Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), Ilocano, Kapampangan, Pangasinan, Tagalog, and Waray. The language being taught all over the Philippines is Tagalog and English. I speak Tagalog and Ilonggo. I also speak a little Spanish.
