Indonesia Tops Global Flourishing Index in 2025
According to the Global Flourishing Study 2025, Indonesia ranks first among countries where people flourish the most, achieving a remarkable score of 8.10. The study measures well-being through factors such as life satisfaction, mental health, social relationships, and sense of purpose. Indonesia’s strong community bonds, cultural emphasis on togetherness, and spiritual values are seen as key drivers behind its top ranking.
Following Indonesia, the Philippines secures the second spot with a score of 7.71, showcasing Southeast Asia’s overall strength in fostering well-being and happiness. Filipino culture, known for its optimism, resilience, and close-knit family life, plays a major role in this result. Meanwhile, Hong Kong takes third place with 7.12, standing out for its high standard of living and focus on personal and social development despite urban challenges.
The rest of the list includes India (6.87), Turkey (6.32), and Japan (5.89). These findings highlight Southeast Asia as a region where life satisfaction thrives—not just through economic growth, but through community values and emotional well-being. As the world seeks models for holistic happiness, countries like Indonesia and the Philippines demonstrate that flourishing goes far beyond material success.
