Twelve Types of Trips Everyone Should Take in Your Lifetime

From My Travel Readings This Week- My Photo at Kona Village, Kona, Hawaii, 1979

Travel comes in all shapes and sizes. For some, travel can mean jumping in a car with a group of friends for a cross-country road trip or finding an all-inclusive resort and getting pampered to the max. For others still, travel can simply mean throwing a dart at a map and hopping on a plane. Whatever it means to you, we’ve put together a list of particularly special trips to take in your lifetime. The specifics are up to you, but we encourage all travelers to try and accomplish all of these at least once( From Discoverer.com).

Last Did you know that......
Mangkono (Philippine ironwood) is so dense that it sinks in water and can even break
chainsaws? This rare and incredibly tough hardwood, found in the Visayas and Mindanao,
is one of the hardest woods in the world. Because of its extreme durability, cutting
Mangkono requires specialized tools—regular saws and axes simply won’t do!
Due to its strength and resistance to decay, Mangkono is often used for shipbuilding,
bridges, and even railway tracks. However, its slow growth and overharvesting have
made it increasingly rare, highlighting the need for conservation efforts to protect this
natural wonder.
