I was looking at my photo albums, the other day. For some reasons or another, I picked up the album with pictures of the CDM Beach House and its Landscaping. Francisco Dagohoy led the longest revolt in Philippine history, lasting 85 years (1744–1829) in Bohol. His uprising started when a Spanish priest refused to give his brother a proper burial. Dagohoy rallied thousands, establishing an independent settlement in the mountains that resisted Spanish rule for nearly a century!Spain never fully crushed the rebellion—it only ended when local forces, tired of fighting, surrendered. Because of its embarrassing length and Spanish
failure, colonial historians downplayed it, leaving many Filipinos unaware of this epic struggle.
