Meanwhile,Did you know that.....?

The Luna Sharpshooters, also called Tiradores de la Muerte (Marksmen of Death), were the most feared snipers in Philippine history!
Formed by General Antonio Luna during the Philippine-American War, these elite marksmen wielded Mauser rifles, cutting-edge weapons of the time. Despite being outnumbered, they played a key role in battles like Bagbag River (1899), where they caused 700 American casualties while suffering only 200 losses.
One of their greatest achievements? On December 19, 1899, a sharpshooter named Bonifacio Mariano shot and killed General Henry Lawton, the highest-ranking U.S. officer to fall in the war!
Even today, the Philippine Army’s Light Reaction Regiment honors their legacy with the motto Tiradores de la Muerte.

Lastly, Did you know that.....
The British controlled islands in Mindanao even after the Philippines gained independence in 1946!
📝 The Turtle Islands and Mangsee Islands were administered by British North Borneo, despite being part of Philippine territory.
🤝 But unlike Hong Kong’s grand handover in 1997, this transfer was done peacefully—through letters between Filipino and British officials.
📅 On October 16, 1947, the UK officially returned control, making it one of the Philippines’ quietest yet most significant diplomatic victories.
