Last night, I experienced one of those rare dreams that remain crystal clear long after waking. Normally, I do not remember my dreams. They vanish with the morning light. But this one stayed with me, vivid and detailed, as if it wanted to tell me something.
In my dream, I found myself in a town in the Philippines. There stood a two-level house unlike any I had ever seen. The lower level opened onto a street that led to the old part of town. As I walked along that road, I saw antique houses, reminders of another era, and eventually the cemetery, where generations of residents had found their final resting place.
The upper level of the house opened onto a completely different street. That road led toward the beach and a newer section of town, where development and growth were taking place. The same house belonged to two worlds. It had two legal addresses, two entrances, and two different directions.
