From My Recent Readings on Massage Therapy
1. I became a massage therapist because I wanted to help people feel better. Little did I know I’d spend my days negotiating with shoulders that have been holding grudges.
2. I’m basically a professional at convincing men to slow down. Getting them to stop checking their phones, however, is an entirely different qualification.
3. I can find tension in your neck and shoulders faster than you can find an excuse to cancel your gym session.
4. I love watching clients arrive looking like they’ve just survived a Monday morning meeting and leave looking like they’ve won the lottery.
5. I created a space where you can forget about work, responsibilities, and your 47 unread messages. For 90 minutes ….your biggest responsibility is turning over when I ask you to.
6. I believe the right pair of hands can do wonders. My hands have a better track record of getting people to relax than most motivational speakers.
7. I help people reconnect with their bodies. Some arrive saying they’re perfectly relaxed, then I touch their shoulders and discover they’ve been carrying the entire European economy
8. My favorite moment is when a client falls asleep during the massage. It’s the ultimate compliment. Five stars for me, zero stars for their awareness of the experience.
9. Making people feel safe, comfortable, and cared for is the best part of my job. The second best part is when someone says, “That was the best massage I’ve ever had.” I won’t lie, I replay that compliment in my head for the next three business days.
10. And finally, I chose a profession where I can tell handsome men to lie down, close their eyes, and relax while I work my magic….. Sometimes I look at my career choices and think: honestly, I did pretty well.
Now tell me, which number sounds most like you? And when was the last time you gave yourself permission to switch off completely?
Meanwhile, if you have a chance would you try Dinuguan?
This Filipino comfort food is a rich, savory stew traditionally made with pork, pig’s blood, vinegar, garlic, and spices. It may sound adventurous if you’ve never had it before, but it’s a well-loved dish in the Philippines. It is one of my favorite dish.
And there’s a classic pairing you shouldn’t miss: dinuguan with puto. The soft, slightly sweet steamed rice cakes balance the rich, savory flavors of the stew perfectly
